Home Owner – Occupied Reconstruction Program in Albany – Applications are now being received. The City of Albany has been given the opportunity to receive grant money through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to construct five new houses in Albany for individuals or families living in sub-standard housing. This program is designed to reconstruct homes for eligible low-income homeowners who occupy their homes.
The application period will continue until July 21, 2010. The first five households to (1) complete and return the application information, (2) provide all requested information to verify eligibility, (3) meet all eligibility requirements and (4) agree to participate in the program will be served.
Special advance arrangements can be made for persons with special needs, language interpretation or for persons needing alternative time or locations by calling Tiffany Nall (325) 762-3133 x 2 in the Albany City office.
If you know of anyone whom you think may be interested in and qualify for this program, please direct them to the information available at City Hall. This is a unique opportunity for us to make a significant difference for five families in Albany who may be living in sub-standard housing.

MMPC will host the Community Vacation Bible School this year. Other churches participating are: First United Methodist, First Christian, and Friendship Baptist.

This summer you’ll set sail for VBS fun on the HIGH SEAS! Feel sea spray on your face as sails snap overhead – and you and your crew experience the deep, rolling waters of God’s love! While on the High Seas, you will learn that God’s word is true, comforting, surprising, life-changing and is for everyone.
Thursday, July 8 will be the next planning meeting – if you are unable to meet and have any ideas that you would like to let us know about, please email Ashley: Ashley@mmpcalbany.org. We will be decorating the church on Sunday, July 18 with a ship theme. Please plan to be there, we need your help, no matter your age!

Summer Sunday School teachers are still needed for the 2-5 year old class! Please prayerfully consider teaching our little ones this summer. If this is something you would like to do 3-4 times this summer, please contact Ashley Moon at the church office 762-2038 or by email ashley@mmpcalbany.org.
We still need at least 2 drivers for Hot Spot every Wednesday this summer (June9-Aug 4). If you are in town and would be able to help drive kids to and from the various locations, we really could use the help.
