Mission

MMPC is a body of Christ who believes that “being” the church is equally as important as “going” to church.  As we continue to humbly SERVE and passionately SHARE Christ we attempt to do so with a vision that allows us to see beyond the walls of this church building.  We are prayerful that we will be a congregation who embodies the compassionate and servant heart of Jesus Christ as we long to function as a giving people rather than a place where people come to receive goods and services.

Opportunities:

  • MMPC currently designates at least 10% above and beyond its annual operating budget to go towards Mission and Evangelism.  Approximately 70% of the missions budget is used for local projects such as: Albany Ministerial Alliance, Backpack Program, Love & Care Ministries and approximately 30% is used for international programs such as The Red Cross, World Vision, Cure International and Doctors without Borders as well as support for mission trips to Kenya and Haiti.
  • Loaves and Fishes:  A monthly ministry where people gather to prepare and deliver food to those in need.
  • Closet Angels:  a ministry to provide basic clothing needs.  If you or someone you know needs any assistance in providing basic clothing needs for school aged children, or if you would like to donate clothing, please contact Lori Reames at 721-8620. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!  2 Corinthians 5:17
  • Vittles by Vehicle:  We participate in this wonderful community wide effort to deliver meals to various shut-ins across the local community.  MMPC is currently responsible for delivering meals three days a week during the months of May and December.
  • Annual Mission Trips:  MMPC plans to take a minimum of two mission trips a year.
  • Mission Saturdays:  At least once per quarter we will move from the “inside” of MMPC in order to engage those “outside” the four walls of our church.  We will accomplish this through various local mission projects.
  • Christmas Day Feast:  MMPC volunteers prepare, serve (and deliver if necessary) a traditional holiday lunch with all the trimmings on Christmas Day for anyone who might be alone for the holidays, working, cannot afford a healthy meal, and stranded travelers. There is no charge for the meal and it is open to the public.
