Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch...

I have heard it said that repetition leads to remembering and remembering leads to action.  Based on that bit of wisdom I am going to repeat something I said last month—at least in part.

Has anyone asked you "The Question" yet?  You know, "The Question" that we are all guilty of asking this time of year.  "The Question" whose answer can vary from person to person
but can also consistently peak our interest.

You know the question?  “The Question” is:  “What are you doing this Summer?

Something so simple and yet so revealing.

We are still in the wonderfully, tiring, and HOT three-month season of Summer.  Fandangle has “fandangled” on out of town and now we are sitting around wondering what we could possible do with our abundance of free time.  Yeah, right!  We know better, don’t we?

Well, as we continue our journey through the summer I want to once again encourage you to refrain from taking a vacation from your spiritual life.  You see, as your pastor, I firmly believe that your spiritual growth and direction is my business.  And, quite frankly, there is nothing in this world that says you have to be here—or that you have to walk with the Risen Lord—or that you should desire more than anything to grow spiritually.  But consider this—one day, perhaps sooner rather than later, the Lord is going to hold us accountable for our lives on this earth.

So, in an effort to assist you in remaining focused on your spiritual life, I want to ask you to help me—just as I did in June and just as I will again in August.  Will you take some time to consider your favorite Bible verse?  And after you have considered that special verse—will you take just a minute to email it to me (trey@mmpcalbany.org)?  I have an idea and your participation in this little “summer experiment” will help me greatly.

One verse—from all of you—within the next three months.  That shouldn’t take too much of your time but it sure will influence how I answer “The Question.”

In advance, thank you for your help.

Have a great Summer and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

One more thing—“Traveling Mercies” for you and your families.

See you back at the ranch!
